UK Snow 1.4 has just been approved by Apple - coming to an iPhone near you soon! Its a bug-fix release, remedying the issue where some users found they could not use the app to tweet.
Twitters changed their login process a little - and it looks like an improvement...the only problem is that the change will stop new users logging into twitter with UKSnow. We've sent a fix off to the app store, and are waiting for Apple to release it. Hopefully in the next day or two.
Apple released Version 1.1 of UKSnow.
By the time you read this it should be live in the App Store. Its got some neater icons, and a timeline view so you can choose to see just the last hour or two, or all the available data.
Note that when everyone is tweeting this will have little effect, as we can only show the last 200 tweets anyway: sometimes that can be only 3-4 minutes worth! You have to love the live nature of Twitter.
We've dropped the price of the UKSnow to 59p now: in this weather everyone should have it! Get it here (itunes Link)
Follow @andiih on Twitter for UKSnow app news (and anything else I tweet about!)
We are waiting for Apple to approve an update to UKSnow. This free update adds a timeline feature so you can control what timeframe the maps displays - from all available (the current setting) down to the last hour. We submitted it last decade (OK - Friday) so hopefully they will release it soon!
UKSnow (or #uksnow to use its correct Twitter hash tag) is a phenomenon created by Ben Marsh which uses a "mashup" of twitter data and google maps to show snow as it progresses over the UK.
GeoTagging tweets. Its a fairly new idea - Twitter only recently made the facility available. The major twitter clients for iPhone have adopted it, allowing you to tag a tweet with your current location. Thats all very well, but what happens if you want to GeoTag a tweet based on the place you are talking about, perhaps somewhere you have been, or somewhere you are going ? Thats where Locati Tweeter (iTunes link) comes in.
Yet another 50 Eggs iPhone application has gone live in the AppStore. This time its worldwide. This time its huge. This time its Friday 13th!
Don't get caught out by Friday 13th's again. This fun Friday 13th detector gives you a count down of days until the next Friday 13th and a handy rolling list of all Friday 13th's in the next two years.
TweetHawk is a twitter client we are working on for the iPhone. Its fast, furious, aggressive and awesome. If you are interested in joining the beta, drop me a mail to developer at (this domain). For now, thats all we are saying on it.
We've recently been working on some iPhone projects - and our first one has gone live in the AppStore. Its a property search tool with the ability to add ratings and comments to properties - a first in the sector we think! The app also has a useful "near me" mode which gives a heads-up display of the nearest place matching your criteria - enabling you to tour an area and see what matches. You can also set it to show you every property - no more figuring out if you can afford the place you just drove past! (p.s. always best to get someone else to drive if you are operating the iPhone!).
